Our hands-on workshops range from making baskets from collected plant materials, carving soapstone figures, making a fire without matches, tanning animal hides, making soap or candles, creating a clay pot and firing it in the village, or sewing clothing you could have worn in 1812.  Each season offers different opportunities to learn new skills so look below to see what we’re doing this year.

MAC Lab Workshop

The Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory (MAC Lab) located at Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum is hosting a two-day workshop focused on artifact identification and field conservation strategies for archaeologists. The workshop is open to any practicing professionals and graduate students in the field of archaeology. Because of limited space and the desire to have hands-on activities, each session will be taught to groups of no more than 10, for a maximum of 20 total participants.

Fee: $120.00/per workshop
