Discovering Archaeology Day and Egg Hunt
April 20, 11AM - 4PM

Experience, discover, learn, and have fun exploring the “what, where, and how’s” of ar-chaeology! Demonstrations, tours, and activities for budding archaeologists of any age! Come for Discovering Archaeology Day and stay for the free Egg Hunt at 1:00 PM.


Children's Day on the Farm

June 2, 11AM - 5PM

Join us for the Annual Children’s Day on the Farm, a celebration of Southern Maryland’s rich agricultural heritage! Enjoy new attractions as well as old favorites, like the antique Tractor Parade! Demonstrations, hands-on activities, pony rides, games, live entertainment, food and beverages. Great family fun! (Note fee charged for some activities, beverages and food.  Cash only!)



Senator Bernie Fowler's Patuxent River Wade In
June 9, 1PM - 4PM

Join former Senator Bernie Fowler and other dignitaries for this great event, as they wade into the Patuxent river! Mr. Fowler started the “white sneaker” test as a means of checking water clarity. His ingenuity has led to multi-tributary events across Maryland showcasing efforts to save our rivers and streams. Before and after wading, enjoy environmental demonstrations, music, and exhibits. 

 

JPPM's Annual 5K Run/Walk Race

JPPM's annual 5K Run/Walk race.Join us for the Annual 5K Run/Walk race held every October. The Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum (JPPM) annual 5K Run/Walk is a fundraising event. Education and outreach programs are made possible through grants, fundraisers, donations and support from the Friends of Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum. The Friends of JPPM is a non-profit organization that supports environmental, history, heritage and archaeology educational programs and family events.


Halloween Festival
October 25, 5PM - 9

The Halloween Festival is family fun event. Young children will enjoy a wide variety of carnival games, arts and crafts activities, campfire stories, face painting and a fortune teller.



American Indian Heritage Day

November 9, 11AM - 4PM

Join Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum in our re-created Indian Village, for a day filled with hands on activities! American Indians have made, and continue to make, lasting contributions to the social, political, technological, and cultural fabric of this nation. Join us in our Indian Village as we celebrate their history and culture.
