Kalmar Nyckel The original Kalmar Nyckel made four roundtrip voyages across the Atlantic bringing colonists to the Delaware Valley. The present day Kalmar Nyckel is the seagoing goodwill ambassador for the state of Delaware. A recreation of a 17th century Dutch pinnace, the Kalmar Nyckel is over 170 feet long, with a 10 story high mast, and over 7,000 square feet of sail, nine miles of rigging, and four cannons. Come assist the crew as they raise and lower sails while you experience sailing on this piece of history. For more information on the Kalmar Nyckel, visit http://www.kalmarnyckel.org/. |
